Amusnet Gaming Continues Supporting DAR Bjorn and Meaningful Community Initiatives

As part of our ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, Amusnet Gaming is proud to continue supporting initiatives that create a meaningful impact in our communities. Among these is our partnership with DAR Bjorn, a cause that reflects our values and commitment to supporting people facing life-changing challenges.

After supporting the DAR Bjorn Charity Gala last year, Amusnet Gaming once again joined this year’s initiative, continuing its commitment to a cause close to many hearts. 

But what exactly is DAR Bjorn?

"Dar", which means "Home" in Maltese, reflects the heart of the initiative, creating a place of care, dignity, and support. Founded by Bjorn Formosa, who previously worked in the iGaming industry before being diagnosed with ALS at just 28 years old, DAR Bjorn was created to provide people living with ALS and other severe neurological conditions with dignified, person-centred care in a purpose-built environment. Living with ALS himself, Bjorn transformed his personal journey into a mission to improve the lives of others facing similar challenges.

Last year, Amusnet Gaming supported DAR Bjorn’s vision by contributing toward the development of the new, larger DAR Bjorn Respite Centre, designed to provide advanced care, greater accessibility, and essential support for individuals living with ALS and other neurological conditions.

This year, we are taking our support one step further by sponsoring a tangible and essential need at DAR Bjorn — a ventilator that will directly support patients and their care.

Supporting initiatives that create lasting impact remains a key part of Amusnet Gaming’s CSR efforts. Over the past year, our initiatives have included supporting Women for Women in celebration of International Women’s Day, partnering with local animal sanctuaries as part of our Valentine’s initiative, and organising a clean-up activity at Qalet Marku in Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq together with the Malta Ranger Unit for the upcoming World Environment Day.

Whether supporting people, communities, or meaningful causes, our aim remains the same: to create a positive impact where it matters most.

To learn more about why supporting the Dar Bjorn initiative is important to us, we sat down with Roberta Cauchi Muscat, Head of Admin at Amusnet Gaming, to discuss the partnership and the values behind it.

Why did supporting DAR Bjorn feel like the right fit for Amusnet Gaming?

‘‘For us at Amusnet Gaming, supporting this initiative felt very natural. It aligns closely with our "We Care" value not just as words, but as something we actively try to live by. The impact of DAR Bjorn is clear, and being able to contribute to that is something we’re genuinely proud of. Supporting DAR Bjorn is our way of contributing to something meaningful beyond our day-to-day business.’’

Last year marked the beginning of Amusnet Gaming’s support for DAR Bjorn, and this year you continued that commitment. Why was it important to remain involved?

‘‘For us, support shouldn’t be a one-time gesture. When we believe in a cause and see the impact it creates, continuing that relationship becomes important. Last year gave us the opportunity to learn more about DAR Bjorn and the incredible work being done, and continuing our support this year felt like a natural next step. We want our involvement to reflect a genuine commitment rather than a single moment of contribution.’’

How does supporting initiatives like DAR Bjorn connect with Amusnet Gaming’s CSR efforts?

‘‘CSR for us is about creating a positive impact in a way that is authentic and meaningful. We always try to support initiatives that align with our values and allow us to contribute to the communities around us. DAR Bjorn represents compassion, care, and support for people facing extraordinary challenges, making it a very natural fit for us.’’

What makes DAR Bjorn such a meaningful cause to support?

‘‘The mission itself is incredibly powerful. DAR Bjorn provides not only specialised care and support but also dignity, comfort, and hope for individuals and families facing very difficult circumstances. Learning more about the story behind it and seeing the impact firsthand makes it impossible not to feel inspired.’’

What does it mean to see the wider iGaming industry come together in support of initiatives like DAR Bjorn? 

“It’s inspiring to see an entire industry come together with a shared purpose, proving that collective action can create a real impact. Initiatives like these show how businesses can contribute beyond their day-to-day work and support causes that create lasting change.

The DAR Bjorn Charity Gala by BGaming, taking place at The Phoenicia on Friday 29 May, is a great example of this. It brings together leaders and professionals from across the iGaming industry in support of a truly meaningful cause, and we’re proud to stand alongside others for the second year running in supporting a mission that continues to make a difference.”
